The Alouette Space Agency is new eight piece jazz group comprising a unique set of instrumentalists led by Ottawa drummer Mike Essoudry. Featuring two drummers, two keyboardists, and four diverse horn players, the Agency blasts off to far flung spaces and places of jazz to funk to the Sahel. The Agency is made up of the deepest range of artistry available in Ottawa: ranging from jazz to funk to folk to free, it is all there in a glorious edge-of-your-seat musical journey. Building on a rich history of jazz streams and traditions and the rich playing of the individuals in the Agency, the music is at once accessible yet challenging, subtle yet powerful.
